Top 10 Best Free Data Recovery Software Tools 2019

Data Recovery Software

There are many free data recovery programs that can help you recover your accidentally deleted files.

These file recovery programs can help you recover or “recover files” on your computer.
The files you have deleted are often still present on your hard drive (or USB drive, media card, smartphone, etc.) and can be recovered using the free data recovery software.

1. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is a great data recovery software. Recovering files is very easy to do with just a few clicks.

My favourite aspect of the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is that the user interface is structured very similarly to that of Windows Explorer. While that may not be the ideal way to display files, it is a very familiar interface with which most people feel comfortable.

The EaseUS data recovery wizard will undo the removal of files from hard drives, optical drives, memory cards, iOS devices and almost anything else that Windows sees as a storage device. It also makes recovery partition!

Note that the Data Recovery Wizard Free will only recover a total of 500 MB of data before you need to update (or up to 2 GB if you use the share button in the program to post about the software on Facebook, Twitter or Google+) . But it’s quite enough for small amount data recovery.

Another character that makes it standout is the photo recovery ability it showes. It supports most digital cameras as well as drone cameras with good data recovery performance. And it can even repaire photos if they are damaged during the deletion process or so.

2. Recuva

Recuva is the best free data recovery software tool available, without a doubt. It is very easy to use, but it also has many optional advanced features.

Recuva can recover files from hard drives, external drives (USB drives, etc.), BD / DVD / CD drives and memory cards. Recuva can even recover files from your iPod!

Recovering a file with Recuva is as easy as deleting one! I recommend you try Recuva first if you need to recover a file.

Recuva will recover files in Windows 10, Windows 8 and 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2008/2003 and earlier versions of Windows such as 2000, NT, ME and 98. 64-bit versions of Windows are also supported. There is also a 64-bit version Recuva available.

Piriform provides an installable version and a portable version of Recuva. I tried file recovery with Recuva v1.53.1087 using its portable version in Windows 8.1.

3. Puran File Recovery

Puran File Recovery is one of the best free data recovery programs I’ve seen. It is very easy to use, it will scan any disk that Windows sees and has many advanced options if you need them.

Something to keep in mind is that Puran File Recovery identified more files on my test machine than most other tools, so be sure to give this one a chance besides Recuva if you didn’t find what you were looking for.

Puran File Recovery will even recover lost partitions if they have not yet been overwritten.

Puran File Recovery works with Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP. It is also available in a portable form for the 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows, so it does not require installation.

4. Disk Drill

Disk Drill is an excellent free data recovery program, not only for its features but also for its very simple design, which makes it almost impossible to get confused.

The Disk Drill website says it can recover data (up to 500 MB) from “virtually any storage device,” such as internal and external hard drives, USB devices, memory cards and iPod.

Disk Drill can also preview image files before recovering, pausing scans and resuming them later.

Perform partition recovery, back up a complete drive, filter files by date or size, run a quick scan instead of a full scan for faster results and save the scan results so you can go back to Easily import them to recover deleted files at a later time.

Disk Drill works with Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP, as well as with macOS.

5. Glade undelete

Glary Undelete is an excellent free file recovery program. It is very easy to use and has one of the best user interfaces I’ve seen.

The biggest advantages of Glary Undelete include the easy view of “Folders”, an Explorer-style view of recoverable files and a prominent “Status” indication for each file, suggesting how likely a successful file recovery will be.

A disadvantage of Glary Undelete is that installation is required before it can be used. Another is that you are asked to install a toolbar, but you can, of course, decline it if you do not want it. Apart from those facts, Glary Undelete is first class.

Glary Undelete can recover files from hard drives and any removable media you may have, including memory cards, USB drives, etc.

Glary Undelete is said to work on Windows 7, Vista and XP, but it also works well on Windows 10, Windows 8 and versions earlier than Windows XP. I tried Glary Undelete v5.0 on Windows 7.

6. SoftPerfect File Recovery

SoftPerfect File Recovery is another excellent file recovery program. It is very easy to search for recoverable files. Anyone should be able to use this program with very few problems.

SoftPerfect File Recovery will recover files from hard drives, memory cards, etc. Any device on your PC that stores data (except your CD / DVD drive) must be compatible.

SoftPerfect File Recovery is a small, independent 500 KB file, which makes the program very portable. Feel free to run File Recovery from a USB drive or floppy disk. Scroll down a bit on the download page to find it.

Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2008 and 2003, 2000, NT, ME, 98 and 95 are all compatible. According to SoftPerfect, 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems are also supported.

I tried SoftPerfect File Recovery v1.2 on Windows 10 without any problem.

7. Wise Data Recovery

Wise Data Recovery is a free recovery program that is really easy to use.

The program was installed very quickly and I scan my PC in record time. Wise Data Recovery can scan several USB devices such as memory cards and other removal devices.

An instant search feature makes searching for deleted files that Wise Data Recovery has found really fast and easy. A Recoverability column shows the probability that a file will be recovered with Good, Poor, Very Poor or Lost. Simply right-click to restore a file.

Wise Data Recovery works with Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP. There is also a portable version available.

8. Restoration

The Restoration data recovery program is similar to the other free recovery applications on this list.

What I like most about the Restoration is how incredibly simple it is to recover files. There are no cryptic buttons or complicated file recovery procedures; All you need is in an easy to understand program window.

The restoration can recover files from hard drives, memory cards, USB drives and other external drives.

Like some of the other popular data recovery tools on this list, the Restoration is small and does not need to be installed, which gives you the flexibility to run from a floppy disk or USB drive.

The restoration is said to be compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98 and 95. I tried it successfully with Windows 10 and Windows 7, and I had no problem. However, v3.2.13 did not work for me in Windows 8.

9. FreeUndelete

FreeUndelete explains itself: it’s free and recovers files. It is very similar to other recovery utilities in this range on our list.

The main advantage of FreeUndelete is that it is easy to use the “folder deepening” interface and functionality (that is, the files available for recovery are not shown in a large and unmanageable list).

FreeUndelete will recover files from hard drives, memory cards and other similar storage devices on your PC or connected to it.

FreeUndelete works on Windows 10

10. ADRC Data Recovery Software Tools

ADRC Data Recovery Tools is another excellent free file recovery program. File recovery with this program is not complicated and could probably be done by the average computer user without any documentation.

ADRC data recovery tools should be able to recover files from any non-CD / DVD storage device, such as memory cards and USB drives, as well as hard drives, of course.

ADRC Data Recovery Tools is an independent 132 KB program that makes it a very portable data recovery tool that easily adapts to any removable media you may have.

The data recovery tools are officially compatible with Windows XP, 2000 and 95, but I successfully tested data recovery with this program in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

I also tried ADRC Data Recovery Tools v1.1 on Windows 8 and 10, but I couldn’t make it work.

11. CD Recovery Toolbox

CD Recovery Toolbox is a completely free and unique file recovery program. CD Recovery Toolbox is designed to recover files from damaged or damaged optical drive discs: CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD DVD, etc.

According to the editor, CD Recovery Toolbox should help recover files from discs that have been scratched, splintered or that have surface stains.

An obvious disadvantage is the inability of CD Recovery Toolbox to recover files from hard drives or portable media drives. However, the program is not designed to do that, so I have not sustained that fact against it.

The Recovery Toolbox CD works on Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista

12. UndeleteMyFiles Pro

UndeleteMyFiles Pro is another free file recovery program. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s completely free even though it says “Pro”.

The tree view and the detailed view are the two viewing perspectives that you can choose. You can also preview the files, which sounds good, but all you do is restore the data to a temporary folder and then open them.

An emergency disk image is one of the tools included in UndeleteMyFiles Pro. This tool takes a snapshot of your entire computer, puts all the data in a file and then allows you to work on that file to find the deleted data you want to restore. This is very useful because once the image file has been created, you do not have to worry that the new data written to your hard drive will replace the important deleted files.

There is a good search option in UndeleteMyFiles Pro that allows you to search by file location, type, size and attributes.

Something I really did not like about UndeleteMyFiles Pro is that the recovery process does not tell you if a file is in a good state of recovery like most other programs on this list.

I tried UndeleteMyFiles Pro on Windows 8 and XP, and it worked as advertised, so it should also work on other versions of Windows.

13. MiniTool Power Data Recovery

Unlike some of the other file recovery programs on this list, Power Data Recovery must be installed on your computer before you can use it. This is not the best way to work with this type of software because the installation can overwrite the deleted files and make them less likely to be recovered.

Another disadvantage of Power Data Recovery is that you can only recover 1 GB of data before you have to upgrade to a paid version.

However, I like the fact that the program finds deleted files quickly and that it can recover files from both internal drives and USB devices. In addition, Power Data Recovery allows you to search through deleted data, recover more than one folder or file at a time, export the list of deleted files to a text file, pause or stop scanning when you find what you need and filter the files By name, extension, size and/or date.

Power Data Recovery works on Windows 10, 8, 7 and earlier versions throughout Windows 95, plus Windows Server 2008 and 2003. I tried this version of Power Data Recovery on Windows 10.

14. TOKIWA DataRecovery

TOKIWA DataRecovery is an effective data recovery software program and is very similar to many others on my list.

The best thing about TOKIWA DataRecovery is its ease of use. It has a single program window where you can search for files to recover, sort and recover them. There are no complicated procedures at all.

TOKIWA DataRecovery can recover files from hard drives, memory cards, USB drives and other external drives.

TOKIWA DataRecovery is a separate 412 KB file, which makes it a fully portable tool suitable for a USB drive or a floppy disk.

DataRecovery is officially compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, 2000, NT, ME, 98 and 95. However, I also tested TOKIWA DataRecovery with Windows 10 and Windows 8, and it works exactly as advertised.

15. PC Inspector File Recovery

PC Inspector File Recovery is another good free data recovery software program with a “deeper” search for deleted files than other similar recovery programs.

PC Inspector File Recovery can recover files from most hard drives, external drives and memory cards.

I recommend trying PC Inspector File Recovery only if another data recovery program with better rating did not do the work for you. The not-so-easy-to-use interface and long hard drive scanning times keep this file recovery application out of the Top 10.

PC Inspector File Recovery is officially compatible with Windows XP, 2000, NT, ME and 98. However, I tried PC Inspector File Recovery on Windows 8 and it worked as advertised. I also tried v4 on Windows 10 but it didn’t work properly.
