But the world of technology still has quite a few exciting things in store for us that we’ll have a chance to try later in the year. Here are those that we’re most excited about.
Lenovo Yoga Book 9i
Set to be released in the early summer, Lenovo’s new Yoga Book comes with exciting features both on the outside and under the hood.
The Book 9i has the form factor of a traditional laptop but two screens that give multitasking a new dimension. Meta Quest 3
The first VR headsets were heavy, bulky, and hooked up to a computer. That is until the Meta Quest 2 (called Oculus Quest 2 at the time of its release) hit the market, setting a new standard for fully immersive entertainment. And the time for its successor, the Meta Quest 3, is slowly coming.
Expected to be released sometime in the fall, the Meta Quest 3 will be lighter than its predecessor, even though it will have a similar design. One of its new gadgets features is the charging dock, a feature common with the upcoming Quest Pro.
The new headset is expected to have four frontal cameras with depth perception for better mixed-reality experiences, thinner lenses, a new generation SoC, more RAM, and SSD storage.
The Meta Quest 3 is rumored to be released in October with a price between $300 and $500 (the Quest 2 costs $400).
Timekettle Earbuds
One of the most amazing things in Star Trek was the overcoming of all language barriers with the help of a device called a “Universal Translator”. Now, it seems, it will be the next sci-fi gadget to become a reality thanks to Timekettle, a company whose founder is himself a major science fiction fan.
Actually, the inspiration for Timekettle’s translation earbuds was the Babel Fish, invented by British author Douglas Adams in “The Hitch-hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”.
Timekettle’s Fluentalk handheld translator and earbuds are capable to translate on the fly between 40 languages (and 93 accents). The earbuds offer true bi-directional simultaneous translation, meaning that you can speak and be spoken to at the same time, just like in a normal conversation – the buds will do their job just the same.
The company has different products for different needs, covering everything from short conversations and entertainment to deep and long business communication.
